Simple French Toast Recipe
Weekend projects, laundry, and saving the house from the busy week. Saturdays are full!
At least now you have an idea for breakfast :)
French toast is one of my favorite weekend breakfasts. I love that it is simple and quick to whip up, it keeps the kids full ‘til lunch (no scrounging for snacks when you need to be picking up), and it feeds them a wholesome meal without reaching for the cereal :)

Simple French Toast
2 eggs, slightly beaten
½ cup milk
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
¼ tsp vanilla
⅛ tsp nutmeg (optional but highly recommend)
Blend thoroughly
4 - 6 slices of bread
Have ready
Frying Directions:
Heat butter or oil in a skillet or griddle. Dip a piece of bread in the egg mixture until both sides are covered and moist. Quickly transfer the bread into the skillet or griddle and fry on each side until golden brown. Do each piece of bread until you have soaked up all the egg mixture.
Serve immediately with your favorite pancake toppings.
Some of our favorites are syrup, peanut butter, butter, honey, and jelly.
